I Remember When……..

Posted by Brigitta Baylor under Brigitta Blog

I know it has been a minute since I left a message but an overdue vacation was calling my name.  What a difference a little rest and relaxation can do for you when you have a schedule like mine.  The holidays I must admit added little comfort to my schedule due to all the holiday swing events.  I received several messages from the swing dance community overwhelmed at the number of events they had to pick and choose from off the website.  I guess we should be glad there are many to choose from but some feel it divides the swing community in so many directions…..which one should you go to?  Don’t try my method and try to attend them all. You end up staying 30 minutes at each event and you really don’t get to enjoy the atmosphere or the people. That is one of my changes for this year.

I remember when….. The Riviera Club was the place to be to get your swing dance on in Fort Worth, all you old skool dancers know what I am saying. I was fortunate to learn swing dance while in high school and you never missed Thursday Nights.  Now you have the opportunity to get your swing dance on  7 days a week.  Now it’s a smorgasbord of  places and events. Challenge yourself in 2010 to support an event you have not been to or take a class from an instructor you’ve been admiring from afar but just haven’t made the commitment yet!  Take a road trip to Oklahoma, Killeen, Austin, Houston, and Beaumont.  You just maybe surprised at what they have to offer.

Hope to see you at our January 16th, Denim and Diamonds Affair!

Until next time….keep swing dancing!
